Perhaps the mark of greatness

Perhaps the mark of greatness is facing life as it comes, being content with the daily, what we call ordinary, not the accomplishing of great moments, great monuments, great works. Joseph was that kind of man–a saint. – Sister Madeline
I saw this on a poster yesterday, in the tunnel between the parking ramp and St. Joseph’s Hospital in St. Paul where my dad is. I’m not sure I have the spelling of the nun’s name right. Evidently, there’s a St. Joseph’s Day every year, and she makes an artistic poster as part of the celebration, which is then distributed or sold.
It never occurred to me that there could be an interesting link between Real Joe and St. Joe. But this quote whacked it’s way into my consciousness and I scribbled it into my Palm to the puzzled looks of people passing by. I’ll keep digging for more good stuff about St. Joe. Maybe he’ll become our patron saint.
