I’ve got an idea for a wireless app. I’ve written it up, registered a couple domain names, and showed it to a few knowledgeable folks over the past couple months. I’ve gotten some encouraging reactions. Yesterday, I sent it to the owner of a wireless app company to see if they might be interested in developing it.
Here’s the blurb from the writeup. Let me know if you’re interested in seeing more details.
IM Around (alternate name: KnoWhereIM) is a wireless application that allows users to communicate their current location to interested others. (The ‘IM’ stands for either “I am” or “I’m” or “Instant Messaging.”) It allows people known to one another (friends, family, co-workers, colleagues) to inform each other about where they are and where they’ve been recently. And it allows strangers to connect with others who have similar interests when they’re nearby or when they’ve been nearby recently.
