No man can reveal to

No man can reveal to you ought but that which already lies half asleep in the dawning of your own knowledge. – Kahil Gibran
‘Ought’? I guess in this case it’s meant to be a variation of ‘aught’ which means ‘nothing’ which makes the most sense. I like this phrase because it conveys a bit of self-reliance in the insight game. Sort of a “Hey, you can wake up and discover stuff on your own if you work at it” statement. On the other hand, this might be a little dangerous if that’s taken to mean “I don’t need anybody else to point out my shit to me.” Paradoxical stuff, once again.
