My dad’s CAT scan revealed no strokes and he’s not responded to the Ritalin, even though his eyes are wide open occasionally and he seems to be staring right at me. I talked to my Mom last night and she said his doctor called to say that he didn’t think he’d come out of this, even with shock treatments. So she told him to pull the feeding tube and to let him go. He’ll stay right there in the hospital where they have a hospice program. I don’t imagine it’ll take too long for him to die, as he’s down to 90 pounds or so now. I’d still like to talk to his doctor to find out why he doesn’t think that electro shock therapy isn’t worth a try as per our plan on Monday. But I’m not going to fight him about it, unless my mom changes her mind.
Meanwhile, my sister’s not doing too well either. We asked her to stay with us for a few weeks once she’s discharged from the hospital and she’s considering it.
