I started a modest Joe spam campaign yesterday. I sent individual emails to potential investors I’ve been talking to, asking them if they wanted to see the revised Exec Summary and alerting them that they’d get the HTML version of Fresh Joe with an invitation to subscribe. I added about 75 addresses of Beta Joes to that invite as well. Today I’ll crank up a text version of Fresh Joe and send that out. I like the ‘pseudo – spam’ tool in Subscribe Me Pro that allows me to do this without committing the crime of putting people on the list without their permission.
I had a conversation with a sizable media company on Wednesday that has venture money to fund content-oriented startups. They have a fairly quick turnaround on making a decision so that’s encouraging. Meanwhile, I’m cranking up contacts with everyone I can think of. Even if they’re not interested in investing, they may be interested in Real Joe.
