I think I would’ve pooh-poohed the idea of emotional infidelity twenty years ago. But that was back before I’d experienced a significant degree of emotional intimacy with my wife. So I was glad to see this newspaper article about its threat to marriage, based on the book Emotional Infidelity by By M. Gary Neuman. A related book, according the article Is It Cheating? is Infidelity on the Internet by Marlene Maheu and Rona Subotnik.
The key question, according to these authors: Are you consistently sharing with someone things that you are not sharing with your spouse, especially information about problems in your marriage that your partner would feel was a violation?
