On the surface, a feel-good story about a middle-age firefighter donating a kidney to a young guy in his department. But it caught my eye because the reporter didn’t stop with the donor’s contention that it was “just something God wanted him to do.” He dug deeper for the social and psychological factors that make up the brotherhood common to fire departments, but taken to a new depth by this donor.
