Our local newspaper used this headline for the story on the six month WTC tribute in NYC on Monday where two shafts of bright light were projected into the sky.
Light tribute in New York reaches ‘into heaven, near where the heroes are’
That’s a partial quote from the brother of a police officer who died. It’s funny how this notion of God in the clouds and heaven up in the sky persists. Funnier still how the media gets off on it whenever someone affected by a disaster or calamity of some kind starts waxing poetic.
By most accounts, the ceremony was well done and a moving experience. I wish I could get to NY in the next month to see it.
