Morrie goes on to explain: “But the big things–how we think, what we value–those you must choose yourself. You can’t let anyone–or any society–determine those for you.”
I like this, but Morrie’s solution seems a solitary one. Since I’ve been working on Real Joe, I’ve made more progress on creating my own culture because I’m doing some of it publicly and I’m getting some support for it. It sounds paradoxical, but part of the idea behind Real Joe as a media company is to create more cultural support for men to get better at creating their own culture.
