To wait for someone else,

To wait for someone else, or to expect someone else to make my life richer, or fuller, or more satisfying, puts me in a constant state of suspension; and I miss all those moments that pass. They never come back to be experienced again. – Kathleen Tierney Crilly

This isn’t currently true for me… my wife Robbie and I are in love in a way that doesn’t have much of the dependency described in the quote.

But the quote would have wider application if it said, “To wait for someone OR SOMETHING ELSE to make my life…”

That’s the current trap that I have to watch out for, i.e., “If only this would happen, then my life would be….” It’s so easy to entertain that kind of mistaken thinking and not notice it.
