It’s been three days in

It’s been three days in a row now that Robbie’s felt reasonably good. The steriods/prednisone seems to be out of her system pretty much. So last night we had a romantic campfire on top of the big hill where I’ve been riding dirt bikes (Observed Trials) for 25 years. Good old Ambassador hot dogs, potato chips, and ‘smores. It was a crystal clear starry night, about 40 degrees, a half moon. We bundled up (long underwear!) and stayed toasty warm. I’m a lucky man.
Today I’ve got more emailing to do, along with figuring out the cookie problem with message boards. And if there’s time, I want to finish up the Tools article and get that to Jon, my editor.
I’m trying to decide what to do about not yet having my own bike to ride tomorrow for the RJ freeze yer buns tour. I could ride as a passenger on Jim’s or Larry’s big Beemers, but that’s not as fun for me or them.

I need guidance here. I’m not sure what to do, but I’m confident that an answer will come to me if I just write and listen. One option is to contact the Harley rental outfit in Mpls, put it on my business credit card, get to know the owner a bit so that I can be in a better position to negotiate good rates for next year. But it’s a bit extravagant – $250 for a day, and I’m low on cash right now.
I could also ask to borrow somebody’s bike but it’s kind of awkward. “Hey, want to go on a RJ bike trip Sunday? Can’t? Well, can I borrow your bike then?”
It’s early yet. I’ll wait a little longer to see what comes to me.
It’s noon. The Harley outfit, Midwest Motorcycle Rental, called back and said they’re renting Sportsters for $100. Perfecto. I’ll borrow a set of leathers and head up there now to get it. Zippadee dodah!
