And yet, when I look

And yet, when I look up to the sky, I somehow feel that everything will change for the better, that this cruelty too shall end, that peace and tranquility will return once more. – Anne Frank

I heard an epidemiologist on the radio talking about the threat of bio-terrorism and how much more lethal it could be than a hundred jets crashing into crowded edifices.

So like Anne, we can’t be assured that we’ll be around to see peace and tranquility return after this crisis. Millions often die before tyrants and evil are overcome. Can I still be full of hope and accept that… accept that that’s what sacrifice and leaving a legacy are all about? I don’t know. I’ve lived a damn cushy life and have experienced very little to prepare me for it. It’s an uneasy doubt, ever present even during moments of flag-waving pride.
