I think, at a child’s

I think, at a child’s birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift would be curiosity. – Eleanor Roosevelt

I drove one of my son’s back to Northfield tonight and we chatted a bit in the car about his attitude about learning. He sees himself as extremely curious about the world, in contrast to many of his college-going friends who are putting in time, skipping classes when they can get away with it, and just bored with their formal education. I told him that he’d probably benefit from going to college now, as he’s weak on ‘rigor.’ I wonder if he ever will.
