Newsblog: Nuns Offer Clues to Alzheimer’s and Aging.

A very interesting story in today’s NY Times about whether a positive emotional outlook early in life and even early language agility can help people live longer. (It’s free but registration required. A condensed version — lots of good stuff left out — appears in today’s Strib, titled Study of nuns, aging to be published.)

Here’s a great quote: “Sometimes I feel like I’m 150, but I just made up my mind I’m not going to give up.” – Sister Esther Boor, age 106.

See? It’s not unreasonable for me to live spryly till I’m 119 (my goal). If my kids die of old before me, well, that’s too damn bad for them. 😉
