“One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach; one can collect only a few.” – Anne Morrow Lindbergh
I sometimes wonder whether I’ll get around to traveling all the various places in the world that interest me. Or having experiences that intrigue me. It’s easy to then lapse into yearning, with a trace of “if only…” I try to remember to whack myself with a sarcastic “Yeah, and THEN I’ll be happy!” knowing that that’s not true. If I really want to experience those things, I’ll do it. But right now, I’ve here, doing what I want and value because of both the choices I’m made and the circumstances of life. If I don’t get around to collecting more shells, I’m not going to let it bug me.
