It was a good weekend for development of our RJ radio pilot. First, David and I generated a ton of ideas for segments and posted them in the Planning for a radio show pilot on the message boards.
And then I got some good feedback on my CD demo from a well-known independent producer. He wrote:

Finally got around to listening. And I like it. I like your writing, more than your delivery, but you need to do both. It’s very honest stuff, with very little BS, which I find very appealing.
In terms of making these bone fide PUBLIC RADIO commentaries, I think you’re close. A couple of things:
1. They may need to be a bit longer. 1:30 is actually short for public radio … or it felt short.
2. Language needs to be modified. We ought to be able to take a needed “shit” or two … but it’ll just stand in your way.
3. Get the echo off your voice. Unneeded and affected.
I think you should pitch a new batch, hard, to the national desk at ALL THINGS CONSIDERED. I think they’d be interested in your POV.

I’m not sure what I should do with this feedback, if anything. I’m tempted to forward it to TPTB at XYZ media company who recently said “pass” but I’ll hold for now. Not a good idea to proceed with a business strategy when I’m feeling a little defensive.
I do like the idea of putting a whole new batch of Joe to Gos on CD, though, and sending it to ATC. But I just don’t have the time right now, as the pilot takes priority. And getting my taxes done. Oy.
