Nothing in life is to

Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. – Marie Curie

This seems impossibly rigid to me (nothing?), but there’s an element of wisdom in it that makes sense. My fears about Robbie’s medical condition, our finances, the future of Real Joe as a business, or whether or not I’ll play well in my racquetball doubles league match tonight, all tend to diminish the more I take the time to understand the goofy ideas related to these fears that float around in my head, often just below my normal level of awareness.

This Joe to Go will be read by more people than usual today, and I’m now aware of a little fear creeping in that’s associated with this. What will they think?! What if they… Ah, what the hell, I’m just learning and most readers are willing to help me learn. It doesn’t need to be perfect. There, I feel better.
