One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach; one can collect only a few, and they are more beautiful if they are few. – Anne Morrow Lindbergh
I have an old sweatshirt with the slogan “So many books. So little time.” It actually would bother me at times when I first got it, until I discovered that I had a nagging, mistaken idea floating around in my head that said I had to be smarter and more knowledgeable about so many things… so that I could impress others. Oy. I still have that goofball thinking creep its way back into my head occasionally (I’d better buy the Sunday New York Times so I can keep up!) but it’s getting easier to be ok with ‘not knowing’ the more my desire to impress diminishes.
