I apologized to my daughter

I apologized to my daughter last night. I explained to her how I remembered being afraid to cry when my dad was mad at me and that it occurred to me last week that I was doing a similar thing to her when I was mad at her and then said in a harsh tone, “Why are you crying?” I told her I wouldn’t do that any more, but that if I did, she should say to me “Dad, remember you said you wouldn’t do that anymore.”

She chirped, “Thanks for the apology” and then we high fived. As she got up to go to bed, she told me a joke she’d read in the Pretty Good Joke Book I gave her for xmas.
