Men can only be

Men can only be happy when they do not assume that the object of life is happiness. – George Orwell

I believe that the very purpose of our life is to seek happiness. – The Dalai Lama

Can both of these guys be right? I think so, because it’s all in the definition of the word ‘happiness.’ I just bought The Dalai Lama’s book “The Art of Happiness” but it’s clear from a few quick glances that that which provides satisfaction of desires is NOT what he means by happiness… and probably IS what Orwell means by the word.
